Teachers, we start our fifth six weeks period on Monday, Feb. 24th. Hard to believe, isn’t it? We have a “short” week due to Charro Days festivities. Please pick up a copy of the shortened bell schedule to follow on Thursday. Ms. Ortiz will be conducting the EOC/TAKS Assessment training on Monday, Feb. 24th at 8:00. All teachers must attend this mandatory training. State assessment on TAKS is scheduled for the week of March 3-6. A big “thanks” goes out to the teachers doing TAKS pullout sessions!! Also, Ms. Wilson has notified me that the DEIC has approved the big change coming up in the development of next year’s CIP. We will briefly touch base on this with you all at the March 3rd TPAP meeting. We will all work on that CIP in the near future. Teachers, get ready for “Open House”. Ours will be March 3rd from 5:30-7:30.

Assistant DA Montanaro speaks to Lincoln Park students about Teen Dating/Violence.

PRINCIPAL FOR A DAY – DAISY LOPEZ

Lincoln Park’s “Principal for a Day” was Daisy Lopez, a former grad. Daisy spoke to the students about her life and journey as a pregnant teen to where she is today. Her message was very inspiring to all the students and faculty members. At the end she was presented with a framed certificate and took pictures with her teachers during her years at Lincoln Park. She was amazed to see so many of her former teachers still doing great work with current students.
