What We Plan To Do… We will depart from Sky

Harbor on June 20 at 10:05 PM and arrive in Lima at 10:26 am the following morning

Stay at the Mont Blanc Hotel

We will visit the National Museum of Peru

Come close in counter with Wild life

Try some of the restaurants giving us a taste of Peru

Watch the Inti Raymi Celebration (Adoration to the Sun) take place

Watch a bull fighting tournament

Play soccer with some of the locals and visit they’re villages

Go biking through the forest

Mandatory Costs…

No “out of pocket” money will be asked of the students to pay for airfare (donations have been made)

The hotel will be $70 per person for the week

The museum is free of charge

Taking a tour with a Wild Life expert will be $80 for the day (includes lunch)

Biking will be $56 per person (includes lunch)

The students will have to pay for 6 of the 8 lunches, and all their dinners. This will cost about $200 dollars for the week.

The festival will be free of charge unless you would like to buy a souvenir

The bull fighting tournament will be $20 per person

We will be buying a few toys and clothing for the villagers it will be $15 per person

Why would we do this???Reasons:•We get to practice what we have been learning all year in Spanish ll by talking to natives of Lima and store and restaurant keepers. Touring and museum visiting will be good language practice as well.•Polish up what we have learned and “plaster” it in our brains so we will be all prepared for Spanish III!•Obtain a couple extra history lessons about Peru without having to go to school by taking tours and visiting museums•Learn the culture of a separate country from the U.S. and compare and contrast it to ours.•Doing this helps us get out of our comfort zone and experience a new way of life.•We can practice being out in the real world and use this opportunity to be responsible and learn to use money and interact with other cultures
