PROJECT STATUS The First Track Celebration was commemorated with a community event this summer to embed the first track in the guideway. This milestone is significant as it marks the halfway point of construction. It also means the construction area on 19th Ave. will begin appearing more as a light rail system, as stations take shape and the guideway is completed. CONSTRUCTION Track installation has occurred at the site of the future park-and-ride at Dunlap Ave. and is continuing to head south down 19th Ave. With this new phase, driving patterns along 19th Ave. will be modified, including right-turn only movements onto 19th Ave. as the guideway is installed. Residents will continue to see new sidewalks, curbs and gutters throughout the project. Drivers will be traveling on new sections of paved roadway. Other upcoming activities include: • Dunlap station construction • Roadway widening and paving • Major utility construction completion BUSINESS ASSISTANCE To celebrate businesses along the Northwest Extension and encourage local shopping along 19th Ave., Valley Metro and partners are launching a “Shop On Win On” contest featuring METRO Max participating businesses. The contest takes place between September 29 and November 3, 2014. METRO Max shoppers can win one of several prizes, including gift certificates from businesses such as Target, Footlocker, Dunkin’ Donuts, Bookmans Entertainment Exchange, Harkins Theaters and Fletcher’s Tire & Auto Service. Valley Metro encourages you to participate in the “Shop On Win On” contest. Winning is as easy as 1,2,3. Enter by doing any of the following: 1.
