EFW is 1st Tier supplier for Pax and Cargo floor-panels and interiors for the entire Airbus family. Whenever you fly with an Airbus, you step on floor panels made in Dresden.

Since 1993 Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH (EFW) is manufacturing sandwich components with different core and skin materials. In the last 10 years EFW´s component business has grown on average by 10 % per year.

SANDWICH PANELS AND LAMINATES lightweight & superstrong

EFW´S SANDWICH PANELS are made from two main elements: glass and carbon fibre layers or metallic sheets as skin and a core. Due to spe-cific customer requirements we use for the core different materials: e. g. honeycomb, foam or glass.

EFW´S CFRP/GFRP LAMINATES are made from combinations of woven or uni-directional oriented glass or carbon fibres in a duroplastic matrix. Laminates are manufactured under cleanroom conditions.

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

› Lay-ups made from glass and carbon fibre or metallic skins and NOMEX® / KEVLAR® honeycomb or other core materials

› Lay-ups & core arranged in a modular system for optimal sandwich lay-up design

› Various decors depending on application: tedlar, decor foils, gloss and texture coatings

› Flexible geometries and in-sandwich design features

› Deliveries just in sequence ready for assembly

› Max. size 2,90 m × 1,88 m, maritime panel: up to 1,20 m × 2,70 m

› Design of integrated systems including attachment parts

› From semi-finished panels up to drop-in panels

MAJOR PRODUCT FEATURES

› High strength and stiffness combined with minimized weight

› Low smoke emission and toxicity

› Resistance to environmental factors such as humidity, vibration, sand and liquids

› Fire resistance and low flammability
