Hydrogen has a proven track record of partnering with specialist medical device
companies of varying size. In 2012 we embarked on a pilot recruitment partnership
with Medtronic to supply contract clinical operations staff at mid and senior level
across EMEA and Asia. Within the first six weeks we filled 100% of the roles and
delivered results in countries as far afield as Kazakhstan.
Taking the time to understand Medtronic’s motivations, we have developed a
detailed understanding of their business and continue to deliver an average CV to
Interview ratio of 2:1, and Interview to Placement ratio of 1:1.

Hydrogen has been assisting Parexel with their recruitment since May 2010. We
began placing clinical operations contractors across Europe, and soon began to
support the Parexel CPS division globally. In order to mirror the demand of their
impressive year on year growth Hydrogen reacted by upsizing our team accordingly
across the globe.
Having placed 68 contractors*, 23 permanent employees and 7 regulatory affairs
consults since June 2010, Hydrogen have also begun to support Parexel CPS
Biometrics division. We are now exclusive suppliers of contract clinical staff to the
PAREXEL CPS business and a preferred European partner for the global business.

Clinical Research Associate
We’d known UK-based medical devices CRA Kate for five years, had placed her in
roles twice previously and had also hired for her when her contract with a global
healthcare products company ended unexpectedly. She searched the market
herself and took on a permanent role at the UK’s leading developer of medicines
and diagnostics. A great senior-level candidate, with over 10 years’ experience, we
quickly found her a contract at a leading global healthcare company, mainly home
based with site visits once or twice a week.
We’re confident that, when Kate’s contract is up in a couple of months time, we’ll be
her first port of call for her new role.

Our candidate Fernando, a senior risk management physician, was working for a major
pharmaceutical organisation in his native Denmark. We contacted him whilst routinely
mapping the European risk management sector to check on his current status and he told us
he was happy in his current position. We contacted him again some weeks later, convinced
we had a role that was perfect for him. The position, for a global pharmaceutical company
based in Germany, was similar to his current role but better paid. Also, it specialised in
diabetes, an area that we knew he had a specific interest in.
On hearing the job specification, Fernando reconsidered, agreed to interview and
subsequently received an offer. Over the next two months, we supported him and his partner
through the relocation process. Now happily located near Frankfurt, Fernando tells us he’s
very happy in his new role, which has provided him with new challenges and the change in
