Our candidates The majority of the candidates we represent work with us exclusively and we are trusted advisors to many of them throughout their career. We invest heavily in our research function, which spans the APAC, EMEA and USA regions, identifying the most talented professionals from the beginning of their careers and developing relationships based on career and life aspirations. Keeping in touch with candidates, even if they are not actively looking for a new position, often leads to us representing them on an exclusive basis. Through this long term approach candidates recognise the value of working with a specialist recruiter who can represent them accurately in the market.

Our global reachOur offices and specialised teams are linked through our global CRM system, allowing us to have one database of global candidates rather than regional versions. Our teams are able to search for candidates based anywhere, whilst also considering those who are globally mobile. As a result, we’re able to fill key permanent and contractor positions, in over 70 countries, with market-leading success.

Our clientsWe provide some of the world’s leading organisations with one of their key resources, their people. Our success is based on the strong, long-term partnerships we build with our clients and our ability to represent them and their cultures in our day-to-day activities. As a mark of our success, over 80% of the clients who began working with us three years ago, remain with us today, often using us exclusively when hiring for their most important roles.

Our clients come to us not just when seeking new talent, but also when they need a specialist partner to act as a brand ambassador for their business. We regularly offer them additional services such as complementary market intelligence, competitor analysis and perception surveys.

Hydrogen Group has been publicly listed on the AIM since 2006 and has grown, organically, every year since. We currently employ over 400 people across APAC, EMEA and the USA and have a clear strategy to support further growth and success. Our ability to give access to the best local, interstate and global talent is what sets us apart.

As such, we have long lasting collaborations with a number of global ‘Big Pharma’, medical device and biotech companies, and are proud to exclusively partner with major full-service CROs whilst also servicing various boutique organisations. Medtronic

PAREXEL

Hydrogen has been assisting Parexel with their recruitment since May 2010. We began placing clinical operations contractors across Europe, and soon began to support the PAREXEL CPS division globally. In order to mirror the demand of their impressive year on year growth Hydrogen reacted by upsizing our team accordingly across the globe.

Having placed 68 contractors*, 23 permanent employees and 7 regulatory affairs consults since June 2010, Hydrogen have also begun to support PAREXEL CPS Biometrics division. We are now exclusive suppliers of contract clinical staff to the PAREXEL CPS business and a preferred European partner for the global business. Our relationship is built on trust and the ability to deliver top-tier talent, and we are closely aligned to ensure a smooth and efficient recruitment process.

*Of the contract roles, 98% have been on an exclusive basis with a CV to vacancy response time of 24 hours.

Case studies

“PAREXEL have been working with Hydrogen since 2010 and have found them to be so efficient, courteous and flexible to our needs that they are now a partner of choice for our permanent and contract vacancies. The experienced consultants are reliable and always come up with the matching experience level for the role requirement. Candidates submitted are well briefed and ready to start work with us.”

Debbie KentDirector CPSPAREXEL International

Hydrogen has a proven track record of partnering with specialist medical device companies of varying size. In 2012 we embarked on a pilot recruitment partnership with Medtronic to supply contract clinical operations staff at mid and senior level across EMEA and Asia. Within the first six weeks we filled 100% of the roles and delivered results in countries as far afield as Kazakhstan. Taking the time to understand Medtronic’s motivations, we have developed a detailed understanding of their business and continue to deliver an average CV : Interview ratio of 2:1, and Interview : Placement ratio of 1:1.

“We had a number of specialized roles that were proving difficult to fill so had to look outside our list of preferred recruitment partners. Hydrogen approached us in a very professional and collaborative manner and we decided to instruct them on one of the most challenging openings. We were pleasantly surprised how efficient they were completing the assignment. They were responsive and flexible and really understood the job requirements as well as our corporate culture to deliver relevant candidates quickly. We are very happy with the talent recruited through Hydrogen and will continue working with them as a preferred recruitment partner in 2014 and beyond.”

Actelion

Hydrogen began working with Actelion in February 2013 after it became clear that we were in a position to assist outside of their existing PSL with a particularly niche requirement. Actelion were looking for an MD with a clinical development background who would be interested in moving into a senior level drug safety function. After an extensive search we presented three profiles to the HR Director; all were invited to interview and led to a successful hire.

We now support Actelion globally across a number of our specialist areas including drug safety, biometrics and QA/QC, clinical operations and regulatory affairs. Over the course of this year we have developed a very collaborative relationship and are now working as a preferred supplier.
