LIFE AS SUCH A collection of poems by Jacob Machado

The flow The wandering flowing stream, softly winding, cutting, biting. In so setting such a theme, combat the still, the silence fighting. Growing ever larger still, now a river raging. A thrusting rush to thrill, the final conflict staging. Completion now it reaches, pouring from it's mouth to ocean beaches. The calm has now replaced the riot, spreading vast and peaceful quiet.

Crossroads Two paths before my eyes perceived. So many ideas try to deceive. My desires are clear as day. But each must lead a different way.

Conticonfusionnue Sleep envelopes as the darkness comes.

Eyes open to the rising yellow glow. Opportunity is near enough to see. Still to grasp the good, a mystery. Lines of history proceed to flow.

To the wide and easy path succumbs.

Desires so vast paralyze. Focused both here and there, confusion.

Too many choices to be free. Preventing truly a man to be.

Fed comfort to point of disillusion. Keeping silent, necessary cries.

The Gift The struggles of this world,

Come crashing down around, Our plans become unfurled, And fall softly to the ground,

Evil shows its vast array, It's pulling at his person,

his feelings of hopelessness betray, his despair does only worsen,

How can he engage,

An enemy so cunning, he turns another page,

To find a fact that's stunning,

A savior came long past, Yet who saves us still today, A love that's unsurpassed,

He saves even those who stray,

His abounding power shown, So high and lofty above,

Yet still he can be known, His gift to us is Love,
