Best Practices for working with LAS in ArcGIS

• LAS Data- Tiled LAS, v1.1 or higher- If no .lasx present

- 200 mb file size limit (preferably around 50mb)- Keep file I/O local, avoid network

- If .lasx present- File size and network location considerations mitigated

- Projected coordinate system

• Airborne- Classified (bare earth, non-ground)- Breaklines for hydro enforcement- Study area boundary included as constraint

• Terrestrial- RGB, intensity
