This small dose of reality iswhat makes YCML work as abetter movie than the first one, because it gives the charactersroom to grow, with room tospare for a possible 3rd outing. In a way YMCL serves as asmall critique of its own genre, since most romantic comediesin the Philippines are justcutesy vehicles for its stars. Hin-di lahat ng bagay nadadaan sapagpapa-cute lang. In thatsense, YMCL is a true improve-ment of AVSL, making this sec-ond trip worthwhile. Both leadstars Geronimo and Lloyd-Cruzare effective in their roles, withthe right amount of chemistryand just enough mix for thedramatic and comedic parts.Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski is afresh addition as Art's (RowellSantiago) ex Cristina.

You Changed My LifeDirected by Cathy Molina

Revolutionary RoadDirected by Sam MendesBased on the novel by Richard Yates

In Revolutionary Road, KateWinslet and Leonardo DiCaprioreunite in a movie that tries todefine how a marriage works(or not work, as the case maybe) in 1950s suburban America.

Frank is bored to deathworking as a copy writer for anoffice supply company in NewYork, while April is a frustratedtheater actress na nagtitiis saroutine bilang ordinary house-wife and mother. Sa gitna ngkanilang mid-life crisis, maiisi-pan nilang lisanin ang simplenilang buhay at magsimula mulisa Paris. This idea will briefly

rekindle the fire between them, pero unti-unting malulusaw angpangarap na ito when Frankgets a promotion and starts todoubt if the transfer to Pariswill really work, at the sametime, April only seems to careabout leaving for Paris becauseshe's no longer interested in hermarried life, in general.

Winslet does remarkablethings here, showing how suffo-cated, confused and angry sheis with the ordinariness of herdays.
