Make it fun—reap the rewards!Creativity, effort and community involvement are key to ensuring the success of your TD Summer Reading Club. Your local branch could also win national recognition through the TD Summer Reading Club Library Awards. Details of the achievements of the winning libraries may be featured on the Club website, inspiring other libraries to develop similar programs to promote children’s literacy.

How applications are assessedA panel of judges in each language category will evaluate the entries according to established criteria:

• effective reading and literacy-promotion activities• creative implementation of the TD Summer

Reading Club program• adherence to TD SRC brand guidelines

Accessibility AwardThe Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA) will not offer the Accessibility Award in 2020 due to the limitations of Covid-19.

Participating libraries may apply in one language category, English or French. Winners will not be eligible for prizes, in either category, for three years following their win.

Awards that make a differenceThe TD Summer Reading Club Library Awards recognize and reward the most effective and innovative TD Summer Reading Club programs offered in local public libraries across Canada.

The Awards were established to promote excellence in summer reading programs by:

• celebrating creative library staff who engage children in the joy of reading through their TD Summer Reading Club program

• promoting community partnerships that strengthen children’s reading skills

• facilitating the sharing of information among public libraries across Canada so that they can further develop exemplary summer reading programs

The TD Summer Reading Club Library Awards are sponsored by TD Bank Group, a committed and generous supporter of children’s literacy across Canada. Library and Archives Canada is the national coordinator of the Awards.
