JAMES GROSE, CEO, BVNAs CEO leading the BVN team in a number of award winning and benchmark projects across a range of project types and scales, James Grose has consolidated a position of accomplishment in the architectural profession through design innovation, built works, awards, professional leadership and publications. Starting at the end of the 1980s with his own practice, Grose Bradley Architecture, before becoming a Principal of BVN through a merger in 1998, James was appointed National Director in 2006 and CEO in 2016. James has led BVN project teams in a number of benchmark projects, from the seminal Campus MLC, through to the award-winning Brain and Mind Research Institute at The University of Sydney, and more recently, The Kinghorn Cancer Centre, ASB North Wharf and CSIRO Synergy.

CHERYL PARROTT, MANAGER, LIBRARY, CITY OF PERTHCheryl is the Manager of City of Perth Library. Her appointment to the role in September 2011 coincided with the appointment of the architect, and building concept for the new City of Perth Library. Over the course of the next four years she actively contributed to the development of the library building whilst preparing the library team for the new library.

In early 2016, the much anticipated seven level City of Perth Library opened to the public - then the real fun began.

ROBYN FRAPPELL, HEAD OF LEARNING CENTRE, ST JOSEPH’S NUDGEE COLLEGERobyn Frappell began her twenty-nine year-long teaching career as a primary school teacher in Townsville. She has taught in state schools, Catholic schools and independent schools, in both coeducational and single sex systems. Her passion for the importance of literacy and reading lead her to study to become a Teacher-Librarian in 1999. Upon moving back to Brisbane in 2009, she spent time as a middle school teacher of English and Humanities, before moving into the role of Teacher Librarian at Iona College, QLD. In 2015, she took on the position of Head of Learning Centre at St. Joseph’s Nudgee College, a Catholic boys school in the Edmund Rice tradition.

Robyn believes that one of the most effective things teachers can do to raise the performance of students is to help them develop a love of reading and learning and challenge them to have a ‘growth mindset’. She supports this by supporting her library team to develop the boys’ digital literacy skills of critical thinking and evaluation, esafety, cultural and social understanding, collaboration, curating information and creativity.
