“Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph!”
Psalm 47:1
Prelude Welcome Ministry Minute Mary Ellen Gannon Christmas Outreach Ministry Minute of Thanks Pastor Russ and Donna Silent Prayer of Preparation Call to Worship *Hymn of Adoration Thy Might sets fast the Mountains #111
*Invocation Confession of Sin Father, you exhort us in your Word to give thanks in everything, but we confess that we do not. Countless blessings come to us each day, yet we often focus on those things that we don’t have, but desire. We sense within us a spirit of ingratitude that dishonors you. You exhort us to have joy in your worship, but we are sometimes detached and disinterested. Yet despite our ungratefulness and lack of joy, your compassions fail not. You give us food, shelter, meaningful labor; the gift of sight, of speech, of sound, of taste, of touch, of reason. You give us a land of freedom and abundance, and the blessing of family and friends. Best of all, you give us a relationship with you, through the sinless life and sacrificial death of our Lord Jesus Christ. So as we approach a day that is set aside for thanksgiving and praise, forgive us our patterns of selfishness and ingratitude, and grant us a truly thankful, joyful spirit. We ask this in our Savior’s glorious name. Amen. Assurance of Pardon 1 John 2:1-2 *Songs of Praise
Shout to the Lord Darlene Zscheck
My Jesus, My Savior,
Lord there is none like You, All of my days, I want to praise,
The wonders of Your mighty love.
My Comfort, my shelter, Tower of refuge and strength. Let every breath, all that I am, Never cease to worship You.
Chorus:
Shout to the Lord All the earth let us sing,
Power and majesty Praise to the King!
Mountains bow down And the seas will roar,
At the sound of Your name. I sing for joy
At the work of Your hands. Forever I’ll love You,
forever I’ll stand. Nothing compares to the promise I have in You.
(repeat)
Oh Glorious Day M. Hall/M. Bleecker
One day when heaven was filled with His praises;
One day when sin was as black as could be,
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin. Dwelt among men, my example is He.
Word became flesh and the light shined among us
– His glory revealed.
CHORUS:
Living He loved me, dying He saved me. Buried, He carried my sins far away.
Rising He justified freely forever.
One day He’s coming – Oh glorious day,
Oh, glorious day!
One day they led Him up Calvary’s mountain;
One day they nailed him to die on a tree:
Suffering anguish, despised and rejected.
Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He. Hands that healed nations stretched out on a tree,
and took the nails for me.
CHORUS
One day the grave could conceal Him no longer One day the stone rolled away from the door.
Then, He arose, over death He had conquered.
Now He’s ascended, my Lord evermore.
Death could not hold Him, the grave could not keep Him
from rising again!
CHORUS
One day the trumpet will sound for His coming One day the skies with His Glories will shine.
Wonderful day, my beloved ones bringing
My Savior Jesus is mine.
One day He’s coming – Oh glorious day, Oh glorious day! Glorious day!
How Great Is Our God Chris Tomlin
The splendor of the King, Clothed in majesty Let all the earth rejoice, All the earth rejoice
He Wraps Himself in light, and darkness tries to hide And trembles at His voice, and trembles at His voice.
Chorus
How great is our God, Sing with me How great is our God, and all will see
How great, How great is Our God
Age to age He stands and time is in His Hands Beginning and the End, Beginning and the End. The Godhead, Three in One, Father, Spirit, Son The Lion and the Lamb, The Lion and the Lamb
Chorus
How great is our God, Sing with me How great is our God, and all will see
How great, How great is Our God
Name above all names, Worthy of our praise My heart will sing how great Is our God
Chorus How great is our God, Sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see How great, How great is Our God
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee;
How great Thou art, how great Thou art! Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee;
How great Thou art, how great Thou art! CCLI 578579
