More jobs for people, which can make
local people wealthier and able to
afford new things.
Tourism means that people from
abroad might move to the area to live
permanently. This makes house prices to
rise and local people often cannot
afford to buy new property.
Tourists produce loads of waste –
rubbish, pollution from cars and
waste of water. The cost to clear up
goes onto local people.
Tourism improves the economy – there
is more income from selling goods i.e.
ice-cream.
Jobs are seasonal so there is no work
for much of the year.
There is a demand for locally
produced food, which means that local
farmers and producers become
wealthier.
