Have a brief with a Westlaw® citation? Find the cited, unpublished case at Lexis Advance™

LexisNexis has compiled a vast, unsurpassed collection of unpublished cases, including very new cases that have yet to be published as well as cases that were never published in print. Now you can retrieve these unpublished cases via Lexis Advance™ using the Lexis® citation or the Westlaw® citation.

About 1.3 million Westlaw citations for unpublished opinions have been added to cases already available through the LexisNexis case law collection with Lexis® cites. Westlaw citations as well as Lexis citations will be added prospectively for new, unpublished cases as they are received by LexisNexis.

Just enter the Westlaw citation in the red search box in Lexis Advance, e.g., ENTER: 2009 WL 3390172 and click SEARCH. Once you retrieve the case via Lexis Advance, then it’s easy to Shepardize® the decision; just click the Shepardize button. (Your Shepard’s® report is included in your per-document access fee.)

Save research time and research costs—and have the parallel citations you may need when filing documents with courts. There is no increase in Lexis Advance pricing for using Westlaw citations. Only the standard Lexis Advance per-document access charges apply.

At the current time, Westlaw parallel citations for unpublished opinions are not available via lexis.com, and Lexis cites are not available via Westlaw.
