Wine and ./Music

THERE seems to be a close relationexisting somehow between wineand music. Those countries that

produce the most wine seem to belikewise the most successful in turningout good music and plenty of it. Theworld would hardly know it, if all themusic written outside of Germany,Italy and France were to be lost.England's great musician, Handel, wasthoroughly German in birth, temperament, education and style of composition. Italy, France and Germanyare the great wine-producing countriesand might be called likewise the greatmusician producing lands .. One may wonder then, if a liking

for the juice of the grape has anythingto do with fecundity of musical ideas.
