• What information will be shared? (athletics, academics, emergency updates, data?)

• Who gathers the stories/media to share? (Is there one “point” person or multiple people responsible? What role do building leaders have in this situation?)

• Who is responsible for sharing information? Can you embed social media into current job roles (webmaster, computer technician)?

• Do you want a vetting process or provide total autonomy?

• Does the district need to increase human resource investment?

• What evidence do you have of community engagement?

• How will you share your plan with all constituents?

Develop an internal committee to engage in conversation.

• What is your district’s position on social media?

• Is your district ready to move forward with social media?

Determine your needs…• What is your purpose for using

these tools? (share information, collect data, evaluate a program, solicit opinion, connect to learn )

• Will the communication be one-way or two-way?

Evaluate what you are already using…

• What tools do you already have in place in your district?

• How are you currently using these tools?

• Are these tools sufficient for your district’s needs?

• How would your district benefit from other tools?

• How do these choices impact current policies and procedures? (AUP, Social Media, Student photograph)

• When and how will these policies and procedures be shared with all constituents?
