Overview The NCC Education Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Business IT (QCF) (L7DSBIT) qualification is designed for you, if you are an Information Technology and computing graduate or IT practitioner who wishes to further develop your career. You will be exposed to a wide range of contemporary issues, which will enable you to develop the critical, analytical and technical skills needed for senior positions within the IT sector. The qualification will also develop your academic skills, which are required for further study at master’s level. Entry Requirements Entry requirements for the NCC Education L7DSBIT qualification: Route: UK bachelor’s degree with honour (or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science or related subjects. OR IT graduates who hold a bachelor’s ordinary or pass-level degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology or related subject with exceptionally high marks may be considered for admission, at the discretion of NCC Education. Route: UK bachelor’s degree with honours in a non-IT-related subject (or equivalent) OR Three year’s work experience in an IT environment, with evidence of technical or managerial responsibility. Route: Five years’ work experience in an IT environment, with evidence of technical or managerial responsibility. AND The ability to demonstrate suitability for academic study, via personal or telephone interview with the Course Co-ordinator at your Accredited Partner Centre. If you are a potential candidate whose first language is not English, you will need to obtain a valid score of 6.5 or above in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination or equivalent. Qualification Structure You must study the following four core units: Research in Information Technology – reflecting on the application of research approaches and communicating research findings in a suitable format for dissemination. Enterprise Software and Business Infrastructure – an overall view of how information technology is used within industrial enterprises, what is meant by ‘enterprise software’ and how it is incorporated within the underlying IT infrastructure. AssessmentsAssessments for all units are offered in a number of assessment cycles throughout the year. Units are assessed by both examination and coursework assignments.

Award ConditionsNCC Education’s Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Business IT (QCF) (L7DSBIT) will be awarded when you have successfully passed all four units. A unit is passed when an overall unit mark of 40% or more is attained, with a mark of 30% or more achieved in both assessment components.

DurationThe qualification is designed to be delivered over on academic year for full-time study, but it is also flexible in its delivery in order to accommodate part-time learning.

Delivery MethodThis qualification is taught face-to-face, through lectures, tutorials, seminars and laboratory sessions by NCC Education’s Accredited Partner Centres.

Accreditation Status

NCC Education is regulated by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator) to award the Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Business Information Technology (QCF) (L7DSBIT) in England.

The official name on the certificate will be Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Business Information Technology (QCF).

ProgressionThe qualification is designed to allow entry to and/or enhance progression to a wide range of IT management roles in public, private or charitable sectors. Successful graduates of the Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Business IT (QCF) (L7DSBIT) can also apply to various MSc qualifications with UK universities either on campus or online.

NCC Education currently has articulations in place for entry on to MSc qualifications and other master’s level qualifications with a number of universities.
