3 A table centrepiece to incorporate latex fantasy flowers with additional table décor displayed on an oblong or circular dressed table
5.4 Store and finish the completed balloon arrangements with related techniques

• The three assessments will use air filled balloons 1 A conical design demonstrating
size graded balloons incorporating additional 160q and or 260q / heat sealed foil balloons for decoration and texture e.g. Christmas tree
2 A square pack wall using 5” (127mm) balloons of two colours, minimum size 3 foot square (915mm) square
3 A patterned garland using 5 inches (127mm) balloons, 5 foot in length (1.5m)
5.4 Store and finish the completed classic balloon décor
5.5 Produce costing sheets and order of work including timescale
5.6 Evaluate and present the completed classic balloon décor–
• Strengths • Areas for improvement
5.7 All work produced for this unit will be collated and stored in an appropriate format
Learning programme In this unit the learner will:
Use correct inflation techniques using hand pump and electric air inflator
Use correct sizing techniques when working with self made and/or manufactured sizers when creating alternate packing, graded columns and same size duplets and clusters
Use correct knotting of a duplet and a three balloon cluster.
Secure balloon clusters correctly to form patterned and spiralled columns, garlands and conal shapes using the figure of 8 method and the neck to neck method.
Create and construct garlands of alternate packing to generate a square pack wall to a saleable standard
Create correctly heat seal foil balloons
Secure balloon duplets to produce a spiral garland to a self made or manufactured heart framework
Use 160q and 260q air filled balloons to balloon wrap, decorate and add texture to items of classic balloon décor

Use correct inflation techniques of duplets, double bubbles using a 16”(406mm) and an 11” (279mm) latex balloons, gumballs, donuts and blossoms using balloon gas with appropriate regulator
Use correct sizing techniques of duplets, double bubbles, gumballs, donuts and blossoms when working with self made and manufactured sizers
Use correct tying techniques and appropriate tying medium when inflating duplets, double bubbles, gumballs, geodonuts and geoblossoms
Inflate latex balloons with correct quantity of solution to extend float life
Use accurate inflation of 260qs and manipulate to create 16 ‘’(406mm) balloon floating fish
Use appropriate tying techniques and attachment of latex balloons when creating a herringbone arch and a canopy.
Link appropriate sundries to create an even group of 3 cloud nines
Use latex glue, glue dots to bond balloons
Use pens to mark make foil balloons
Calculate accurate heaviness of weight required to support aerial balloon designs
Create simple balloon weights and calculate accurate heaviness of weight required to support aerial balloon designs
