There are people who are loyal to the things they really like. This rule applies to car owners who have forged an attachment to their autos to the point that they have given them names. But, there will come a time when these owners will have to let go of their precious wheels; saying good-bye will surely be difficult.

This article lists the indications one has to let go of his car and the rewards of replacing it with a brand new one.

The Right Time to Let Go

When is the right time to say goodbye? The answer is succinct and direct: when it costs someone more than it should.

A car owner should give up his wheels if the repair manuals on the web are no longer providing help or if the mechanics he’s consulted say the car can no longer be salvaged. He should let go of it if the parts are already unavailable, hard to find, and expensive.

A car owner must give up his wheels when the repair costs are more expensive than the car itself. He should let it go when the rust is unstoppable and is already eating away at its body. Most importantly, he should give it up when it is not safe anymore.

There will come a time when the sentimental value will not match the costs of the repairs and replacements. When someone reaches that point, that’s the time he should ditch the car for something new.

A new car has many benefits. First, the owner will get bigger and better features. New cars are more economical, as they’re fuel-efficient. If a person takes care of it properly, his new car will have a higher resale value. Most importantly, they are safer.

Letting go of old cars is akin to letting go of a good friend; it’s difficult. But, one has to keep in mind that there will always a be better one that will come his way.
