letter to the editor

Letter to the Editor Dear Editor, I had the privilege of attending the 8th International Conference on Cancer Nursing in Vancouver in August 1994 where I presented a paper entitled ’Developing a chemotherapy at home service’. This described a pro- gramme to provide the facility for patients to receive bolus or short infusional non-vesicant chemotherapy via periph- eral cannulation in their home. The overall aim being to improve the quality of services for patients requiring chemotherapy particularly of a palliative nature. My presentation and that of my fellow colleagues in the session stimulated considerable discussion in the group and this has since inspired me to try and initiate communication between a forum of nurses involved in home chemotherapy of all kinds. This is a new and developing field of oncology care and it would be interesting to establish some kind of database on present clinical practice. I would like to receive any correspon- dence regarding this area from your readership and would be grateful if you would publish this letter. I can be contacted at the address below. Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor, I had the privilege of attending the 8th International Conference on Cancer Nursing in Vancouver in August 1994 where I presented a paper entitled ’Developing a chemotherapy at home service’. This described a pro- gramme to provide the facility for patients to receive bolus or short infusional non-vesicant chemotherapy via periph- eral cannulation in their home. The overall aim being to improve the quality of services for patients requiring chemotherapy particularly of a palliative nature.

My presentation and that of my fellow colleagues in the session stimulated considerable discussion in the group and this has since inspired me to try and initiate

communication between a forum of nurses involved in home chemotherapy of all kinds. This is a new and developing field of oncology care and it would be interesting to establish some kind of database on present clinical practice. I would like to receive any correspon- dence regarding this area from your readership and would be grateful if you would publish this letter. I can be contacted at the address below.
