Dear Members and Friends of the International Foundation of Alexander the Great,
With great pride I would like to inform you that our building, the Alexandreion, at the footof Mount Olympus has been brought to a fully functional condition and has become the
beacon of Alexander the Greats vision to spread Hellenism throughout the world. With go
foresight and unlimited daily attention from the President of the General Secretariat of the
Foundation, Mr. Dionysis Paschalis, and his board and with substantial personal financia
assistance from him, and also with some financial aid from a few members of the Foundatthe Alexandreion has reached a level that is admired by all. It has been open on a daily ba
since September 2013 and has been receiving visitors not only from Greece but also from
many other countries. Students and faculty from many schools have made the Alexandreio
their choice field trip destination. On one day recently 500 students visited the edifice from
nearby Katerini.
A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) has been established with the Foundation of Greate
Hellenism () and they have set up facilities for three-dimensio
films at the Alexandreion where students and other visitors are now able to watch educatio
films and thus absorb pedagogical concepts in a fun manner regarding our Hellenic histor
and culture. A MOA has also been established with the National Theater of Northern Gree
for them to present performances at the Alexandreion. Their first performance at the
Alexandreion was on July 18, 2014 as part of the celebrations that took place for the first
this year to commemorate the birth date of Alexander the Great. A recent MOA was also
established with the Center of Sciences and Museum of Technology (NOESIS)whereby thi
Foundation will erect scientific educational facilities at the Alexandreion and develop and
provide to us digital educational DVDs such as Macedonia Thrace which they have
already given to us. In addition to these, an Agreement of Cooperation has been establishebetween the Alexandreion and the Board of the Festival Olympou. At least 32 major, quali
and intellectual events took place at the Alexandreion this past year and more events and
exhibits are being planned in the near future. For a complete listing of these with
comprehensive videos please visit our website: www.alexandreon.edu.gr.
All this success has its cost and we are blessed and thankful to Mr. Paschalis for generous
covering most of the expenses for this past year from his personal finances. We are also
thankful to those friends and members from the USA and Australia who contributed to the
paving of the entrance to the Alexandreion and other needs of the building. However, it is
duty of all of us to participate and financially support every effort for this International
Foundation to keep on spreading the glory of Alexander the Great and the Hellenic cultur
Following are just some of the items that we need financial help with and kindly ask your
