Dear Dr. Vollgraaff,

Re: Steve Biko & Ahmed Timol Autopsy Reports

On behalf of the Timol Family, the Biko Family and the Steve Biko Foundation, I

would like to express our profound appreciation for your message of support.This has been a stressful matter to both families and the Foundation and your

support reassures us of the justness of our cause.

In this whole matter, we had hoped that conscience would prevail and that the

Steeles would hand the documents to the respective families, but that has

unfortunately not been the case. Through our lawyers, we are therefore currently

taking legal action against the Steeles in our quest to secure the return of these

documents to the Biko and Timol families.

We value your message of support as an institution that is committed topreserving the worlds natural and cultural heritage. This is particularly

meaningful as we are looking at preserving these historical documents so that

they can be accessible to the public through the relevant archives; as they detail

some of the apartheid attrocities and thus form part of South Africas national

memory.

To that end we are appreciative of your message of support, please accept our
