Letter of Recommendation: Ms. Emily Dush

To whom it may concern, It has been my pleasure to know Emily Dush for the past six years, first as a vital, dynamic, participant of this congregation, and then since January of 2011 as an employee. Ms. Dush has not only performed exceptionally in her many varied responsibilities, but exceeded our expectations at every turn. As the Administrative Assistant of this small church, she has “worn many hats” and had to be proficient at multitasking. She has walked the delicate balance between working independently but not autonomously, and has kept confidence, which is all- important to a church staff person. Ms. Dush been our key person in handling all our secretarial duties, scheduling building use, maintaining and improving our web presence, our central correspondence and communications person for both in house and general mailings, chief creative consultant for our bulletin, newsletter, sermon series art and props, signs, posters, and a myriad of other special projects and documents. Ms. Dush has demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills in an overwhelmingly volunteer run church, which requires a cool temper, gracious spirit, flexibility, tact and diplomacy. She has also helped coordinate a variety of church/ community activities like Red Cross blood drives, special Wednesday night programming with Love INC, funeral dinners, and other congregational and community events. She also has been responsible for maintaining church records, calendars, reservations, back ground checks, and other operations- sensitive materials. Ms. Dush has a strong creative drive, tinged with just enough perfectionism that her output, projects, and tasks are always fresh, interesting and professional in appearance. Her knowledge and desire to learn has kept abreast of the ever-changing technology that serves the church. She has been the driving force bringing our web presence into the 21st century, totally re-vamped our Sunday bulletin, our monthly newsletter and every other poster, document or mailing that goes out from our church. Ms. Dush would be a tremendous asset to any HR or related team and I would recommend her without hesitation or reservation.
