Letter of Recommendation

Brianna Walker has asked us to provide you a letter detailing her work experience as Store Manager at Antiques at Pike Place, and we are pleased to do so.

Brianna was hired in November of 2009 as a full-time Assistant Manager. Within six months she was promoted to Store Manager, and has been our manager since. The operation includes 5,000 square feet of retail merchandise, and involves 4 to 6 sales associates at any given time. Approximately 40% of store merchandise is sold through the store, and 60% is sold on consignment. Brianna’s responsibilities are to manage the day-to-day operation of the store which includes the following:

Opening and closing the store securely; Oversight of store security practices; Hiring, training and evaluating personnel; Managing the staff schedules and back-ups; Lead staff in merchandising and store layouts; Be knowledgeable of store merchandise and work with customers to sell; Coordinate over 30 consignment dealers. Daily reconciliation of purchases and receipts; compiling and posting financial ledger entries; Month-end processing of sales and distribution of dealer payouts.

Brianna is highly regarded by staff, dealers and customers for her ability to run an efficient and effective operation. Her ability to work with people brings the staff together, but her leadership gets things done. As with every downtown retail operation there have been difficult situations, some involving the Seattle Police Department and theft. She has handled every difficult situation with a calm demeanor and poise.

Recently, we reduced Brianna’s hours so she can concentrate more on her education, but she has retained her managerial duties and continues to perform very well. We were happy to write this letter and would be happy to support any follow-up you might want to pursue.
