Dar es Salaam, Tanzania April 9, 2002 Commanding Officer, Company A, MSG Battalion American Consulate Frankfurt, Germany Dear Lt. Col. Fitzgerald: It gives me great pleasure to forward this letter of continuity on behalf of Sgt. Justin Bondietti, who served as Marine Security Guard at Embassy Dar es Salaam from March 2, 200t to present, Over the past 13 months I have had the oppoftunity to observe as Sgt. Bondietti emerged as a highly valued asset to this Mission's security and a recognized leader among his peers. Sgt. Bondietti is an intelligent, highly motivated Marind whose service will enhance the operational effectiveness of his next post of assignment. Few if any of the scores of Marine Security Guards I have observed in 14 years of service have exhibited the enthusiasm Sgt. Bondietti has shown for tactical and security- related matters. Both in his collateral role as React NCO and in the peformance of his duties, Sgt. Bondietti has consistently demonstrated a mastery of facility defense and access control procedures far exceeding what would be expected of his rank and experience. He has worked tirelessly to fine-tune the Detachment's intruder containment, bomb search and internal defense plans, pointing out vulnerabilities that more seasoned members of the Mission security team may have missed and identifying remedial measures to overcome them. His passion for continuous improvement has inspired his peers and served as an antidote to the occasional monotony of Marine Security Guard duty. Sgt. Bondietti's intense dedication to duty is tempered by a sense of humor and strong interpersonal skills that have made him a well-respected and well-liked rnember of the Mission community. Sgt. Bondietti's insights and accessibility have made him a valued asset in communicating the fundamentals of security awareness to our Local Guard Force and the wider Mission community. He is recognized as a leader in this Detacllment, and is instrumental in training his newly arrived colleagues, Sgt. Bondietti is eminently qualified to serve as React or Training NCO at a larger Detachment with more complex Mission defense responsibilities. I wish him the best of success in his next assignment.
