Where does your money go? Your participation in the golf tournament, our major fund-raising event, will support EWI’s mission of community involvement and allow us to continue to provide generous scholarships to individuals pursuing a higher education degree and to support other philanthropic activities related to literacy. A small portion of the proceeds will also support some of our operational expenses.

EWISP (Executive Women International Scholarship Program) provides scholarship funds to outstanding high school seniors for their pursuit of a baccalaureate degree from a post-secondary education institution. Students are judged on their oral and written communication skills, creativity, scholastic records, financial need, involvement in extracurricular activities, leadership qualities and honors, citizenship, attitude, and clearly defined career goals. In 2018, EWI of Honolulu will award up to $20,000 in scholarships.

ASIST (Adult Students in Scholastic Transition) Scholarship Program provides financial support to adults facing economic, social, or physical challenges, who are looking to improve their situation through educational opportunities (non-traditional students). The goal of the scholarship is to enable recipients to improve their self-esteem and to have a positive impact on their personal life, employment, and community through the furtherance of their education. In 2018, EWI of Honolulu will award up to $20,000 in scholarships.

Who is EWI? Executive Women International is a professional organization that brings together key individuals from diverse businesses for the purposes of promoting member firms, enhancing personal and professional development, and encouraging community involvement. EWI is unique in that the firm, not the individual, holds the membership.

Since its establishment in 1938 in San Francisco, California, the organization has grown, and today, EWI has more than 1,400 member firms and 1,700 representatives in chapters in major cities across the U.S. and Canada. EWI of Honolulu was established in 1967 and currently has 56 member firms.

How to Design Community and Corporate Social Impact to Reverse Burnout, Immediately Engage, and Grow

Presenter: Peter Atherton

Tuesday, July 10, 2018 3:00 PM EDT / 12:00 PM PDT

  In this session we will:

Define professional burnout and disengagement, explain why it is so prevalent today, its

impact on both individuals and organizations, and what can be done to both reverse and void

it.

Gain perspective on the role work and life seasons and generational forces play in the

marketplace and how to position an organization for success.

Explain the four archetypes of how corporate social impact is being practiced today in terms

of “shareholder maximizers”, “corporate contributors”, “impact integrators”, and “social

innovators” based on a study by Deloitte.

Outline a specific 5-step process leaders and organizations can use to attract, engage,

retain, and grow that follows the acronym I.M.P.A.C.T. which include Inventory, Mission,

Planning, Authenticity, Capacity, and Trigger elements.

Peter Atherton is a consultant, speaker, and author of the book Reversing Burnout. How to Immediately Engage Top Talent and Grow! A Blueprint for Professionals and Business Owners. Pete is the President of ActionsProve, LLC and works with high-achieving professionals and business owners to create greater growth and profits through more effective employee attraction, retention, impact, and branding. For more than 20 years prior, Pete was a very successful and accomplished professional civil engineer. Pete sold his engineering firm ownership to focus on designing systems for professionals and organizations to grow and succeed in more relevant and effective ways. Pete has also served in multiple capacities in the non-profit sector to achieve both local and global impact, and is a co-founder of the 100 Men Who Care chapters for Southern Maine and Knoxville, Tennessee.
