letter from mary granville to her sister describing a meeting with jonathon swift, october 1733
DESCRIPTION
Mary Delany (née Granville) (14 May 1700 – 15 April 1788) was an English Bluestocking, artist, and letter-writer; equally famous for her "paper-mosaicks" and her lively correspondence. These documents form part of The Delany letters, a collection held in the Reference Library in Newport, these give a fascinating insight into the lives of a woman in that time, and include many meetings with what we could have called the celebrities of the day.TRANSCRIPT
