• Read or listen to Bouncy Mouse again. Then read aloud the sentences on your pages. Order the pages in the correct sequence of the story.
• Inside each frame, draw an illustration, or picture, for the sentence on that page. Be sure your drawings show what the sentences tell.
• Practice reading the sentences aloud, in the correct sequence.
Now read the story to family members or friends! Fill in any missing parts of the story with your own words. Also, share the drawings you made for your book!
Print pages 2 and 3, and cut apart the 8 pages. Use these pages to make your own book about Bouncy Mouse.
One page has the title and a space for your name. This will be the first page of your book.
Each of the other pages has a sentence about the story and a frame, or space, for a drawing.

LET’S PLAy HOT POTATO! (Best played with 2 or more players)
• The “leader” sits a few feet from the players, facing them.
• The leader reads a word from the word bank below and then tosses a soft foam ball (or a rolled up sheet of paper in the shape of a ball) to one of the players.
• If the word has the ow sound as in ouch, the player repeats the word, says "OUCH!" and quickly throws the ball back to the leader!
• If the word has the oi sound like noise, the player repeats the word and passes the ball to the player sitting next to her or him.
• The leader then says another word from the word bank, and the player with the ball repeats the word. If it is an oi word, the player then passes the ball along to another player. If the word is an ow word, the player says “OUCH!” and tosses the ball back to the leader.
• The leader and players continue in this way with the other words.

JOin bOuncy mOuSE’S bAnD
Gather percussion instruments (hand drums, tambourines, maracas, wood blocks, cymbals, etc.) or homemade instruments (oatmeal boxes with sticks, pots with wooden spoons, pairs of screw-top lids, small plastic jars filled with beans, etc.).
All the band members choose an instrument and learn this chant:
We’re movin’ and we’re groovin’ now We’re marching into town!
Come join the band, come join the fun, Come watch us boogie down!
One person is selected to be the first "leader" for a game of Follow the Leader. Everyone recites the chant, plays an instrument, and marches in line behind the leader, trying to imitate his or her movements.
After going through the chant once, the leader moves to the end of the line, and the next person in line becomes the leader. Continue until everyone has had a turn being the leader!
Hey Leaders! Make your movements as funny as possible and see if the others can copy them!
