LET’S START A NEW STREAK: The Dodgers opened their
season-long tying 10-game homestand last night against the Braves
and had their season-high 11-game winning streak snapped
following a 6-3 defeat. The winning streak matched the longest
streak in the Majors this season with the Houston Astros (May 25-
June 5) and it was the first time the club had won 11 straight games
since July 28-Aug. 8, 2006. Despite the loss, Los Angeles still holds
the best record in the Major Leagues with a 66-30 (.688) mark, 2.5
games head of the Houston Astros. Following the four-game
weekend set against Atlanta, the Boys in Blue will continue the
homestand with a three-game Interleague matchup with the
Minnesota Twins and a three-game series against NL West rivals,
the San Francisco Giants.
The Dodgers have won 31 of 36 since June 7, which is the
best 36-game stretch since the 2013 club went 31-5 from
July 7-Aug. 17. The only other team in franchise history to
best that stretch, was the 1899 Brooklyn Superbas, who
won 32 of 36 games from May 10-June 22. Since the
aforementioned June 7 date, the Dodgers have been truly
dominant:
Dodgers’ Numbers and Ranks – Since June 7

Los Angeles, which has won 18 of its last 20 games at
Dodger Stadium, is a Major-League best 39-12 (.765) at
home this season, outpacing all but the 1953 Dodgers (60-
17, .779). According to Stats LLC., the Dodgers’ .765
winning percentage at home would rank among the best
single-season mark by an NL team since the 1975 Reds,
who went 64-17 (.790) at home – that Reds team would
eventually win the World Series.
Despite starting the season series against the Braves with
the loss, the Dodgers have gone 14-6 against the Braves
since the start of the 2014 season, including winning eight
of 10 home games during that span. Los Angeles has also
gone 14-4 against NL East opponents this year, including
winning eight of its last nine contests.
The Dodgers’ +178 run differential is the best in the Major
Leagues, 12 runs better than the Astros.
The Dodgers are 66-30 through 96 games, their best 96-
game start to the season since having an identical record in
1955. The 1952 Dodgers were also 66-30 through 96. The
last Dodger squad to better that mark was the 1942
Brooklyn team, which was 68-28 en route to 104 wins. Both
the ’52 and ‘55 squads did not win their 97th games.
ALEXANDER THE GREAT: Dodger All-Star left-hander Alex
Wood will make his 15th start of the season tonight as he puts his
perfect 11-0 record on the line against his former team, the Braves.
Wood last pitched on Saturday in Miami, allowing just three hits in
6.0 scoreless innings with four strikeouts and became the first
Dodger since at least 1913 to start the season 11-0. With the win
tonight, he would become just the 11th pitcher in the big leagues to
start the season 12-0 since 1913 and the first since Stephen Strasburg
last season (13-0). Wood, who hasn’t lost since May 30, 2016, a span
of 14 consecutive starts, currently leads big league starters (min. 75.0
IP) in ERA with a 1.66 (15 ER/81.1 IP) mark, while ranking third in
opponents’ batting average (.183).
Wood made his lone career start against his former team on
April 19, 2016, allowing six runs (three earned) on seven
hits in 4.0 innings with one strikeout, as he recorded the loss
in the Dodgers’ 8-1 defeat at Turner Field.
THE CT SHOW: Dodger infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor kept his
hot bat going, as he finished last night’s game going 2-for-4 with a
double and a run scored, recording a multi-hit game in his third
consecutive contest and in six of his last seven games. In 14 July
games, Taylor is batting .439 (25-for-57), which leads the club and
ranks third in the National League. Since the All-Star break, Taylor
has been crushing the ball, as he leads the Majors with a .560 (14-
for-25) batting average (min. 25 AB), while also recording seven
runs, three doubles, two triples, one homer and two RBI in six games.
BATTING CROWN?: Despite going 0-for-2 with two walks in last
night’s contest, Justin Turner still leads the Major Leagues in
batting average with a .369 clip and a .467 on-base percentage.
Turner, who is vying to become the first Dodger to win a batting
crown since Tommy Davis in 1963, looks to join Davis and Eddie
Murray (1990) as the only Los Angeles Dodger to finish the season
with the best average in the Majors:
LAD Ranking 1st in MLB in Batting Average, 1958-2017
(based on official batting average qualifiers)
Tommy Davis, 1962 .346
Tommy Davis, 1963 .326
Eddie Murray, 1990* .330
Justin Turner, 2017 .369 (thru July 20)
* Willie McGee won the NL batting title in 1990. He finished
the season with a .324 batting average, but posted a .335 mark
with the Cardinals before being traded to the Athletics on Aug.

To celebrate Turner’s historic first half of the season and
All-Star Game election, the Dodgers are thanking fans by
offering a limited number of $10 tickets for the July 24
game vs. the Twins. Plus, the first 40,000 fans in attendance
will receive a Replica Justin Turner Jersey presented by
UnitedHealthcare. This is a 24-hour sale, which ends
tomorrow at noon. Buy now while supplies last!
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Dodger rookie sensation Cody
Bellinger, who went 1-for-4 in last night’s contest, drove in his team-
leading 63rd run of the season with an RBI single in the first inning.
Bellinger is tied with Joey Votto for second in the National League
with 26 home runs, four behind Giancarlo Stanton. Since his April
25 call-up, the 22-year-old leads the Major Leagues with 26 home
runs and ranks second in RBI, just four RBI behind Nolan Arenado.
Since Bellinger’s promotion, Los Angeles is 57-19 (.750) and is 56-
17 (.767) when he starts.
SHUT IT DOWN: Despite last night’s loss, the Dodgers still lead
the Major Leagues with a 3.10 ERA. The club also leads the Majors
with a 1.12 WHIP, a .225 opponents’ batting average and 10
shutouts, while leading the NL in strikeouts (920).
The Dodger bullpen leads the big leagues with a 2.86 ERA
(100 ER/315.0 IP), a 1.10 WHIP and 3.88 strikeout-to-walk
ratio (361 SO/93 BB). Two-time All-Star closer Kenley
Jansen recorded his 24th save on Tuesday (2nd, NL) and
currently owns the longest active save streak this year (24).
Jansen has thrown scoreless relief in 21 of his last 22
appearances, going 2-0 with 16 saves and posting a 0.38
ERA (1 ER/24.0 IP) with 27 strikeouts during that span.
AIN’T IT GRAND(AL): Dodger catcher Yasmani Grandal
continued his hot hitting at Dodger Stadium, as he went 2-for-4 with
a double and slugged a two-run home run in the sixth inning for his
13th longball of the season. Grandal currently ranks among the top-
20 in the NL in home batting average (.315, 14th) and slugging
percentage (.564, 20th), while stroking eight of his 13 homers at
Chavez Ravine.
