The Doxology…………….……..……..……………………………………………...…………….….AME Hymnal #647 Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him all creatures here below;

Praise Him above ye heavenly host, Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

The Call to Worship

Minister: I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord!” Our feet have

been standing within your gates, O Jerusalem! (Psalm 122:1-2)

People: For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in

the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. (Psalm 84:10)

Minister: For the sake of the house of the Lord our God; I will seek your good. (Psalm 122:9)

People: They are planted in the house of the Lord; they flourish in the courts of our God.

Minister: O Lord, I love the habitation of your house, and the place where your glory dwells.

People: But the Lord is in His holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before him. (Habakkuk 2:20)

Minister: Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight,

O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer. (Psalm 19:14)

People: O sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things! I will sing of loyalty and

of justice, to you, O Lord, I will sing. (Psalm 98:1,4)

The Hymn of Praise………………………...AME Hymnal #461— I Was Sinking Deep In Sin (Love Lifted Me)

1. I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore, Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more, But the Master of the sea, heard my despairing cry, From the waters lifted me, now safe am I. Refrain: Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help Love lifted me! Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help Love lifted me! 2. All my heart to Him I give, ever to Him I’ll cling. In His blessèd presence live, ever His praises sing, Love so mighty and so true, merits my soul’s best songs, Faithful, loving service too, to Him belongs. 3. Souls in danger look above, Jesus completely saves ,He will lift you by His love, out of the angry waves. He’s the Master of the sea, billows His will obey, He your Savior wants to be, be saved today.

The Responsive Scripture ………………….……………….…………………………………………Genesis 22:7-14

Minister: 7Isaac said to his father Abraham, "Father!" And he said, "Here I am, my son." He said, "The fire and the wood are here, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?"

People: 8Abraham said, "God himself will provide the lamb for a burnt offering, my son." So the two of them walked on together.

The Responsive Scripture (Continued)……………..……………………………………………………….....….……Genesis 22:7-14 Minister: 9When they came to the place that God had shown him, Abraham built an altar there and laid the wood in order. He bound his son Isaac, and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. People: 10Then Abraham reached out his hand and took the knife to kill his son. Minister: 11 But the angel of the LORD called to him from heaven, and said, "Abraham, Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am." People: 12He said, "Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me." Minister: 13 And Abraham looked up and saw a ram, caught in a thicket by its horns. Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son. ALL: 14 So Abraham called that place "The LORD will provide"; as it is said to this day, "On the mount of the LORD it shall be provided."

The Preface to the Decalogue…………………………………………………………………. (in the tune of #258) “From all that dwell below the skies, let the Creator’s praise arise; let the
