Class: 2 Merah Date: 13 February 2014 Proficiency Level of Pupils: Average Time: 8.00-9.00 am Theme: World of Knowledge Topic/ Unit: Farm Animals Content Standards: 2.2 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to demonstrate understanding of a variety of linear and non-linear texts in the form of print and non-print materials using a range of strategies to construct meaning. Learning standards: 2.2.3 Able to read and understand simple sentences in linear and non-linear texts with guidance. 2.2.4 Able to read and understand a paragraph of 3-5 simple sentences with guidance. Learning Objectives: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to: Identify simple sentences from the text given. Construct at least 3 simple sentences. Language Content/ Item: Type of Sentences (Simple Sentences) Pupils’ Previous Knowledge: Pupils already learned about subject and predicate. Set Induction(5 minutes)1. Teacher shows video song of farm animals to the pupils.2. The pupils sing along with the teacher.

Presentation(1. Teacher distributes a short text about farm animals to the pupils. 2. Teacher introduces the sound of the animals that can be found in the text. (E.g: moo, quack)3. Teacher reads the text and the follows by the pupils.4. Teacher shows an example of simple sentences that can be found in the text. 5. Pupils identify the simple sentences that can be found in the text.

Practice1. Teacher distributes happy and sad face sticks to the pupils in order for them to respond to the answer. 2. Teacher pastes manila card types which contains different type of sentences.3. Teacher calls upon pupils to go to the front and the pupils need to identify the simple sentences from the manila card. 4. The rest of the pupils show the happy face for the correct answer and sad face for the incorrect answer.

Production 1. Teacher puts the pupils in groups of five.2. Teacher distributes different pictures to each group.3. Each group needs to construct three simple sentences according to the picture given.

Closure 1. The pupils sing the song with the actions.
