What you need: special snack or toy (one per child)

What you do: Divide the children into two groups on either side of the room. Pass two of the special snacks or toys to each of the children in one group and give nothing to the other group. Tell the children that have the snack or toy that they need to find a friend who doesn’t have anything and share with him.

What you say: Today in our Bible story we learned about a group of people who were good at sharing. They shared everything they had. If they had extra food or money, they shared it with a friend who didn‘t have any food or money. Raise your hand if you didn’t have anything when we played our game just now. Didn‘t it feel good when a friend came and shared with you? That is what God wants us to do - share what we have. What can you share today?

What you need: blanket, ball or balloon

What you do: Spread the blanket on the floor. Have the children stand around the edges and hold on with both hands. Put the ball or balloon on the blanket and let the children shake the blanket to make the ball or balloon bounce.

What you say: Today in our Bible story we learned about a group of people who were good at sharing. They shared everything they had. If they had extra food or money, they shared it with a friend who didn‘t have any food or money. Remember the blanket we played our game with? Some friends didn’t have a blanket to keep them warm at night. God wants us to share what we have. What can you share today?

What you need: blocks

What you do: Let the children each choose one block and one at a time, work together to build a house. Once each child has used his block, he can get another block and wait until his next turn to add a block to the house.

What you say: Today in our Bible story we learned about a group of people who were good at sharing. They shared everything they had. If they had extra food or money, they shared it with a friend who didn‘t have any food or money. If a friend needed a house to sleep in, they would share their house. God wants us to share what we have. What can you share today?

Directions:

1. Give each of the children a magazine. Have them find and cut out pictures of things that they can share with others. Younger preschoolers may need help with this step.

2. Once they have a number of pictures, glue them onto the construction paper. Write the title, “I Can Share...”
