PHASE 1 LESSON PLAN TEMPLATE
Directions:
A. Students and Setting:
Students:
Spanish teens and adults (ages 18-35), all beginner level. These lessons could be adapted to all adults
with basic level. There are 15-20 students in the class.
Setting:
This is a private academy which teaches all English levels in Toledo, Spain. There are different level
groups from beginners to advanced . English is practiced in 50 minutes classes twice a week. There is
internet access, white board, TV and a lot of computers prepared for listening classes .
B. Background:
This lesson is based on a few basic structures which all English speakers need to know. It introduces the
English alphabet, its pronunciation and some basic vocabulary: introductions, greetings .Structures are
presented and repeated by the students: A, B, C, D; Hello; My name…
Students don’t know each other. It is their first English class . In the next lessons they will get to know
better and will learn how to differentiate and distinguish the words.
C. Learning Objectives/Expected Results:
Students will listen and see the phonetical alphabet, the new words many times and will be asked to
repeat them. They will watch a video including new vocabulary and how to use it. Further practice will
help them to learn the language. Gestures are also very important in the learning process.

F. Reflection - Week 2: This lesson uses videos and human gestures as materials because students are adults and it is easier to
work with this kind of materials. They need to speak and repeat a lot of times the structures and to work
always in pairs and in groups. They don’t know each other and they have to use English language to get
to know . It is an enjoyable lesson.
