The next day Kenneth’s neighbour Colin went into his

garden to find out he had been completely dumped on!

Colin wondered what he should do?

Colin feels?

is!

Build a higher fence to try and stop the problem

happening in the future

An aggressive approach can often only cause more arguments between you and a bully and often make things worse.

A passive approach to bullying can mean the problem never gets solved, in fact it is likely to get worse as you will be

seen as an easy target.

You may now start to see the bullying as your problem that you have to deal with

and start to take it out on others.

Isolating yourself from the bully probably means you will make compromises to your

life.

It could also mean the bully will have to start dumping his rubbish on someone else!

Hey Ken. Do you realise

you’re dumping all your rubbish into my garden? It’s making me really unhappy.

It’s NOT MY RUBBISH you

big orange slob!!!!

Would you like to borrow my brush and wheelie bin. I

also have a trailer if you want to take

trips to the rubbish tip?

…err… really?

That would be great.

Thanks.

The hardest option is be assertive, but bullies are bullies often because they have rubbish in their lives that they need to deal with, but can’t

without help and support. It may not always be your help and support, telling a teacher, parent or friend might be more appropriate.

Why do Bullies dump rubbish?•They have their own problems - they

may feel upset or angry or feel that

they don't fit in - perhaps they have

problems at home? •Maybe they get bullied themselves,

perhaps by someone in their own family or

other adults? •They're scared of getting picked on so

they do it first •They want to show off and seem

tough because they are afraid of

what people think of them •Many don't like themselves and so take it out on someone else
