“Moses at the Burning Bush”
Lesson: Exodus 3:1-10
GOLDEN TEXT:
“Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou
mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.” —
(Exodus 3:10)
TODAY’S AIM:
“To see that God manifested Himself to Moses in a special, visible
way and called him as His chosen deliverer for His covenant.”
INTRODUCING THE LESSON:
This week’s lesson needs little introduction, since it has been the
subject of numerous dramatizations in the popular media. Anytime
Almighty God chooses to make a visible, personal appearance in
human history, it is a signal that cataclysmic events are soon to
follow.
PRACTICAL POINTS:
1. God will reveal Himself to you at exactly the right moment
(Exodus 3:1-2).
2. It is important to be ready to respond when God is trying to get
your attention (Exodus 3:3-4).
3. We should always respond to God with humility and obedience
(Exodus 3:4-5).
4. When God calls you, He has already made provision for you to
successfully complete your assignment (Exodus 3:6-9).
5. It is a blessing to be used by God (Exodus 3:10).
6. When God calls you, He goes with you (Exodus 3:10).
CONCLUDING THE LESSON:
We need only think of biblical persons such as Abraham, Jacob,
David, and the apostles of Christ to see a divine pattern at work.
Our Almighty God delights in calling humble people from obscure
situations and raising them to powerful heights that astound and
amaze an arrogant, complacent world.
