Lesson #4 A: To begin this days lesson, students will listen to a podcast that reviews the materials and introduces the new topic that will be discussed. The lesson will be focused on bar graphs. Students will be able to distinguish this graph apart from the others, identify the parts, and know when to use it. S: My students will focus on bar graphs throughout this lesson. Students will know when it is appropriate to use bar graphs, the parts of a bar graph, and distinguish it from the other graphs that have already been addressed in previous lessons by looking at posters that are related to all of the types of graphs, pointing out the differences, and then looking at blogs that refer to graphs. With 95% accuracy, the students will accomplish this by the end of the eighth day. S: Throughout this lesson, the technology that will be used includes the Smart board and computers. U: To prepare for this lesson, the podcast will already be running on the computer for when the students arrive in the morning. The blogs that the class will be looking at and discussing will already be pulled up onto the computer as well. R: For students to be involved in class participation, there will be opportunities for them to share what they are thinking. When the class is distinguishing the differences between all of the graphs, students will have a chance to answer and talk to their partner before discussing it as a whole group. Students will also be able to look at the poster and discuss what new characteristics they observe. E: For this lesson, evaluation will mainly be based upon observing group discussions and looking at their notebooks.

Lesson #4

A: To begin this days lesson, students will listen to a podcast that reviews the materials and introduces the new topic that will be discussed.
