Agenda
1. Introduction to chapter 12.2. Lesson 12. 1 Define and Use Sequences and
Series Part I3. Homework: Read Lesson 12.1 on pages 794-
796. On page 798 answer questions 3, 6, 7, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 27, and 29.

Arithmetic Sequences
1. You own a small boat and your friend is planning a party on an island on a small lake. You offer to bring people over to the island and can fit no more than 3 people (not including yourself) on your boat. Write down the number of people that will be on the island that you brought after 1 trip, 2 trips, 3 trips, etc.
2. How many trips will you need to make to bring all 51 guests to the island? (again, not including yourself)

Arithmetic Sequences
3. The caterer has their own boat and has brought 7 people to cater the party. Find the total number of people that will be on the island after each of your trips.
4. Can you find rule for number 1? 5. Can you find a rule for number 3?

Finding Rules and Graphing
Finding Rules means finding equations.
When graphing, think about what’s special about the domain of the sequence.
