C ome learn, not only how to photograph amazing wildlife, but also how to paint them. And here at the Triple “D” you can do that with internationally known pastel artist, Lesley Harrison and some gorgeous animals that are just a few feet away from your camera lens. Lesley and the Triple “D” trainers will take you out every morning, in the “sweet light” that photographers love, to photograph new animals each day. You will choose from tigers, wolves, mountain lions, leopards, bobcats, foxes… and much more! Six photography sessions are included with this workshop. Lesley also has a passion for photography and will be able to help you go home with thousands of fabulous photos. After the photography session (and lunch) Lesley will work with you, together and individually in an easy step-by-step process, showing you how to paint one of these amazing animals. You will spend half of each day out at one of the locations photographing the animal of choice. Each location is thoughtfully chosen and the area is fenced so that the trainer can optimize that setting with each particular animal. In the afternoon on the Triple “D” grounds, you will have the afternoon to learn Lesley’s technique that has changed the way people look at pastel “drawings” forever. Her two books have made her an internationally known artist and teacher. Her sense of humor makes the whole learning experience fun and helps with the fear of learning new things. Lesley says: “I have been wanting to go to the Triple “D” for years but always visualized it being way out in the Montana wilderness. It is literally just 5 minutes from our hotel and from some wonderful restaurants and shopping in Kalispell. Not only that, but Whitefish, Big Fork and Glacier National Park are just a few miles away! A couple of million people come through this area each year to experience Glacier, so these charming little towns have great restaurants, shopping and art galleries to enjoy. And if you are able to take some extra time, there is Nine Pipes Wildlife Preserve to go searching for bald eagles, snowy owls, river otters, etc. (I got some great photos in there too!) and then Glacier National Park is an experience you don’t want to miss. One more little thing... the owners, staff and trainers are all very warm, friendly and knowledgeable. I have photographed and painted wildlife for almost 40 years and have rarely been so impressed. I always say that getting a good photograph has much more to do the people handling the animals than with any great photographic genius on my part! The people at the Triple “D” know exactly what light, what poses and what type of action we artists like the most and they can deliver it to you! I can’t say enough about my experience and plan to go back at least once a year. For me the photographs AND the memories are priceless. and I know they will be for you too.“ Fall Photography and Painting Workshop 2016 Lesley Harrison’s “Painting Animals that Touch the Heart” Pastel Painting by Lesley Harrison Pastel Painting by Lesley Harrison Photograph by Lesley Harrison “If you love painting and photographing animals, then Triple “D”is the place for you.
