JAWAI | THE LAND OF LEOPARDS

It’s almost unbelievable that there is a place on earth where Leopards has learned to live with people. Yes! Jawai is the place, where numerous big-cats are dwelling near the villages, though many people do not yet know the fact.

The natural reserve of Jawai Dam creates a dramatic landscape including a huge forest down the bank and ample view of the western extension of the Aravalli Hills. Along it flows the Jawai river, a tributary of the Luni. The result of these two form a lake-like water body which is the home of some of the biggest sweet water crocodiles you will ever see and numerous migratory birds.

The Jawai area is located near a village called Bera, in Pali district, literally hidden in the belly of Rajasthan. The surrounding forest houses a notably large number of leopards yet attracts surprisingly fewer numbers of tourists. Although it was hardly known to the wildlifers, but gradually its getting popular and being said to be the leopard-land. Hillocks, natural caves and forest surrounding have provided a more than perfect habitat to the leopards as an added advantage.

This place is also a home to various wildlife such as Nilgai, Owl, Crane, Hyena, Parakeet , Jungle cats, Pelicans and many other rewarding wildlife species for photographers. Despite of the fact that it is an ideal habitat for leopards, the Jawai area has not been declared as a Wildlife Sanctuary. Though the Govt. is in the process of giving protection to the wild life especially one of the most elusive big-cats in the world. B

Day 01 l October 12, 2017 | Thursday | Jaipur - BeraStart from Udaipur Airport at around 8:30 AM and transfer to Bera. Have lunch en route. On arrival check in to Hotel and start for evening safari in search of leopards. Return to hotel in the evening. Stay overnight at resort at Bera

Day 02 l October 13, 2017 | Friday | BeraStart very early in the morning for the morning leopard safari. Return to resort for lunch and rest. Post lunch do leopard safari. Return to hotel in the evening. Stay overnight at resort at Bera

Day 03 l October 14, 2017 | Saturday | BeraStart very early in the morning for the morning leopard safari. Return to resort for lunch and rest. Post lunch do leopard safari. Return to hotel in the evening. Stay overnight at resort at Bera.

Day 04 l October 15, 2017 | Sunday | Bera - JaipurStart very early in the morning for the morning safari. Post lunch transfer to Jaipur. Reach Jaipur Airport by evening. Tour ends on arrival at Jaipur Airport.
