to the back. With indoor and outdoor showers, each tent has its own theme and features a private outdoor fireplace and lower deck, which allows guests to get close to wildlife.
The camp is watched over by a giant fig tree, which was struck by lightning in the 1950s, splitting it in two to give it its unusual shape. It’s under this tree that Maasai elders sit and make decisions on community matters.
At Leopard Hill, guests get an opportunity to discover the unspoiled natural beauty of Maasai Mara while engaging in a variety of safari activities. Enjoy shared day game viewing and night game drives, or discover the pristine beauty of the Mara from a different perspective. A walking safari with the true safari specialists, the Maasai, brings out the intricate details of the savannah while an exhilarating horseback safari enables guests to quietly approach a herd of zebra leaving the visitor with an indelible safari experience. When guests return to camp after an adventure, they can enjoy a deeply relaxing and rejuvenating massage.
Leopard Hill is Basecamp Explorer’s newest camp in the Maasai Mara. Built on elevated decks, it offers a unique location in the heart of Mara Naboisho Conservancy for guests to experience the magic of the Kenyan savannah. Situated next to a series of watering holes where wildlife flocks, Leopard Hill allows visitors a chance to observe animals from a prime spot while enjoying the modern luxury of the camp. Guests enjoy privacy, exclusivity and magnificent views from four uniquely designed spacious deluxe tents, a family tent or a honeymoon suite. To top it all, guests are able to enjoy the scenery without being disturbed, as this part of Naboisho Conservancy is restricted from motorised vehicles.
What makes Leopard Hill accommodation truly special is the adjustable motorised roofs in the tents, which provide unhindered views of the African night sky. Dubbed the Star Bed, the roof opens up overhead to present a stunning view of the sky. The tents offer an almost 360-degree view of the surroundings, from the bed towards the fig tree and the waterholes, and from the bathroom
