3. Why the project was necessary?(needs addressed - problems solved):
Main project goals: • Higher quality within care for the elderly.• Better image of residential care & nursing homes;
higher satisfaction of residents & staff Development of international quality standards for
comparison of achievements among different homes in Europe.
Development, evaluation & implementation of extensive training concept.

4. How did the project do this? (process – implementation):
• Strong integration of target groups during development phase.
• All partners have: – Worked with marketing instruments & direct access
to target groups– Strong interest in use of results > Integration in
their educational programmes.
• Early discussions about sustainability

• Contractor: The Austrian Province of the Camillians (Order of St. Camillus).
• Co-ordinator: IBG — Institute for Training in the Medicare
• 29 partners: specialists in quality management, social services & homes for elderly, net workers
• 7 countries: AT, DE, IT, LU, NL, SI, CZ.

E-Qalin®• Is a user-friendly model of excellence oriented towards practice >
needs & expectations of residents, their families & all those working with / for them in residential care.
• Helps assess the whole range of provisions, processes & results, respectively, in terms of stakeholders’ satisfaction in a structured & objective-oriented way.
• Promotes & necessitates organizational learning by means of a self-assessment process, thus triggering innovative potentials for improvement & organizational development.
• Mirrors both performance & results on an equal footing to bring about continuous improvement that can be observed and empirically confirmed in daily practice.
