ESSENDON FIELDS

BOUNCELeading the way is BOUNCE, which has taken the Australian world of trampolines from a humble backyard activity into a new form of family entertainment.

BOUNCE is located in Hangar 4; a heritage-listed building that boasts an impressive saw-tooth roof and steel frames. This unique architecture gives an urban industrial feel to what was once the old Australian National Airways (ANA) headquarters. Heightening the experience, as much as the jumping, are the awesome views across the tarmac and airfield.

BOUNCE not only includes dodgeball courts, basketball hoops and giant air bags but it also features the only Supertramp in Victoria, Australia’s largest trampoline (5m x 5m).

The BOUNCE hangar has giant doors 10 metres tall that open up so bouncers can watch planes taking off while they get airborne. It’s an awesome space for people to just jump around and have fun!

– Hangar 4 home to BOUNCE– Melbourne’s first indoor skydiving centre

(opening early 2017)– Gymnastics for ages 5-18– Airway Museum steeped in Australian

aviation history

iFLY indoor skydiving (opening early 2017)Set to join BOUNCE in the adrenalin arena is iFLY which will bring Melbourne the first ever indoor sky diving centre.

iFLY’s vertical wind tunnel will generate 1,600 horse power from 4 powerful fans, creating a wall-to-wall cushion of air on which flyers can safely float. The fans are capable of top wind speeds in-excess of 200 kilometres per hour.

With over 6 million people worldwide already flying with iFLY including children as young as 3 to adults as young as 103, it’s sure to be a hit at Essendon Fields.

iFLY Indoor Skydiving will open its doors at Essendon Fields early 2017.

Airways MuseumThe Airways Museum is an aviation museum, but with one difference – it has no aircraft! Instead, the museum houses a collection of national importance that traces the development of Australia’s civil aviation airways system through innovation and technical development from its beginnings in the 1920s to today.

The story is told through artefacts and photographs, and illustrates the role Australia has played in aviation development, internationally.
