LEISD Specials(PE, Music, Art) Learning Plan Parents/Families: Please allow your child to select a different activity from the PE, Art, and Music Activity Menu. We would recommend a minimum of 2 - 3 PE, 1 - 2 Art, and 1 - 2 Music activities per week. Allowing them to choose an activity will allow them to continue their learning in all three of these contents while demonstrating what they like about each content through the activities they self-select. We hope you will have fun and enjoy watching your children participate in these activities, and maybe, just maybe, spark an interest in your family to continue these kinds of activities even after our schools reopen. Digital Resources: PE Art Music All PE, ART, and Music Activity Menus can be found as your scroll to the bottom of this Learning PLan. Thanks for all you do as parents to reinforce the love of our specials classes.

Bugs and Daffy Carnival of the Animals Part 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VX-AzdeIdA Kangaroos - notice the ‘jumping’ Birds - notice the flute mimicking a bird Aquarium - notice the flowing water sounds Elephants - notice the low lumbering walk of the double bass Fossils - notice the ‘bones’ sound of the xylophone Finale - see how many animals you can hear and recognize

If you haven’t set up the new temporary Quaver account, these are the instructions again for you to do it. (even if you currently have an account, sign up for a new one for new remote learnings). Go to https://www.quavermusic.com/info/ In the upper right corner, click the purple sign up button. Use whatever username and password you and your parents prefer that you can remember. In the "Quavercode" box make sure to put H2234 to make sure it works properly. Every time it asks about flash, be sure to say "Allow" OR "with flash" Once you register, you will be able to click login and you don't need to type in the quaver code every time you log in. What fun activity can you find?

Musical Mad Libs -Pick a song you love. -Access the Lyrics. -Leave some blank spaces in the Lyrics & insert new words. (Bonus: try to figure out if the words you replace are nouns, verbs or adjectives and replace it with the same kind of word) -Once you have finished, play the song and sing along with your new words. (Try putting on a concert for or even with your family!)

Listening Go outside and listen to the different birds singing. Mimic their sounds with your voice. Get a piece of paper and draw the sounds you hear. Are the pitches far apart or close together? Do any birds sing the same pitch over and over?

Movement: Move your body to music. Play or sing music that is fast and slow and move your body to match. Have someone pause the music to turn it into a freeze dance game. Try moving to the beat, dynamics (volume), emotion, rhythms, etc. If you have the internet you can find “Just Dance” Videos on YouTube, or if you have a game system, redbox has the Just Dance game as well.

Draw to Music -Pick a pre-made playlist on a streaming service such as youtube, Apple Music, or Spotify. -Get some markers/crayons/colored pencils and draw as you listen to the music. This works best with classical or instrumental music. An artist I like to do this activity with is called Sleeping at Last.

MUSIC HOPSCOTCH Grab some sidewalk chalk or paper and pencil to create your own hopscotch board (outside) or board game (inside) using any songs, dances, activities or topics you have learned about in music class this year! Here’s an example: https://tinyurl.com/Week5Hop

Play a round of Rhythm Horse with a family member of friend. (It’s like basketball horse but with rhythms) The first person claps or plays a 4 beat pattern. The second person repeats it. If they repeat it correctly, they are safe. If they miss the rhythm then they get the first letter of horse, H. Continue taking turns with different rhythms. Each time you miss you get a letter. Whoever spells horse first
