1. Height-adjustableFocus Knobs
A technological first! No two hands are alike. And so the LeicaDM Series enables every hand to rest on thefocus knobs in complete comfort. The focusknobs can be precisely adjusted to fit theuser’s hand. This prevents hand, arm, andshoulder tension and ensures a comfort-able, fatigue-free grip – without additionalarm supports.
2. Adjustable Eyetubes
Relaxed head posture eases tensionProper arrangement of the eyetubes pro-motes good posture while sitting at themicroscope. The Leica DM Series offers awide range of products to customize theeyetube settings. Choose from anergonomic viewing angle of 15° or ad-justable variotubes for a relaxed head posi-tion while viewing. Customized eyetubepositioning prevents neck and back musclestrain, and shoulder and lower neck muscletension, even over lengthy work sessions.Leica’s optional ErgoLift even adjusts theviewing height and angle of the entiremicroscope stand to adapt to the user’sbody.
3 True SymmetricalOperation
Comfortable shoulder posture provides comfortThe stage drive and focus knob arearranged at the same height on the micro-scope, forming a straight line and positionedat an equal distance from the user. Becauseof this symmetry both hands are comfortablyaligned during work, and the shouldersautomatically assume a right-angle positionto the body’s axis. The result: the user sits atthe microscope in a straight, relaxed pos-ture.
4 Fast Changeover fromRight- to Left-handed Operation
One-of-a-kind!The user can set up Leica DM Microscopesfor either right- or left-handed operation asthe default. This feature is especially bene-ficial when alternating users on one micro-scope.
1Effortless Microscopy Means Comfort
The Leica DM Digital Microscope Series makes routine work as comfortable and effortlessas possible. Only a few hand movements are required to adjust the microscope to the user’sseated height, head posture, arm length, and hand size. This adaptability provides reliableprotection from muscular tension, poor posture, and long term, detrimental health effects.Microscopy has never been more comfortable and pleasant.

9. Simultaneous Focus and Stage Control
One-handed adjustmentThe focus and stage can be adjusted withjust one hand to allow faster, more efficientworkflow. While one hand (left or right)focuses the specimen, the other hand is freefor other tasks, such as note taking.
10. New Slide Holders
Ergonomic design means efficient workLeica’s new slide holders help make micro-scope work easier. The slide holders areconstructed so that specimens can bechanged with one hand – and one handmovement. The specimen is inserted intothe holder and removed from it using justtwo fingers. This ensures a fast, fluid work-flow.
11. Premiere: Color-codedDiaphragm Settings
Faster identification and adjustmentThe aperture diaphragm’s scale (on the con-denser) features color-coded markings, which correspond to the standardized colorcodes of the objectives. The user can iden-tify, at a glance, the diaphragm that bestmatches the currently selected objective, and then quickly and correctly configurethe settings.
12. Fast Lamp Replacement
Efficient maintenanceThe lamps can be replaced easily and invery little time. Just remove the socket fromthe side of the microscope, replace thelamp, and reinsert the socket into the micro-scope – and the task is done. The micro-scope does not need to be moved to replacethe lamp.
Another option: the new Leica DM1000 LEDwith long-lasting LED illumination meanslamp changes are a thing of the past.
Elegant Design for Efficient,High-quality Work
Better performance, higher throughput, and faster workflow: three important benefits that pro-vide maximum efficiency to today’s laboratories.
