CELT will be offering a new series of LEGO in Higher Education workshops in 2 Parts and you are very welcome to join.

Register soon and learn more about the LEGO(R) Serious Play(R) Method and other related creative methods using a mix of materials and how these can be used to enable pan-participation, community building, ideas generation and so much more in a wide range of learning, teaching and research situations in your discipline/professional area.

In Part 1 and 2 of this series, valuable insights are gained through LEGO and other 3D model making, metaphors and storytelling. Experience it with colleagues and identify opportunities to use LEGO for learning, teaching, assessment or research in Higher Education. Members of staff at MMU who teach, research and/or support learning are very welcome to register for the LEGO in Higher Education workshop series. The LEGO in Higher Education workshops are offered in 2 parts. If you register for Part 1 or Part 2 you are strongly encouraged to participate in all workshops of the series so that you get the maximum out of it.

LEGO in Higher Education is part of the FLEX offer. Colleagues will be able to use evidence of their engagement and development up to 30 credits at postgraduate level that would count towards the Postgraduate Certificate/Masters in Academic Practice. Please note, additional work at level 7 linked to specific assessment tasks would be required. FLEX can also be taken as a stand alone CPD unit for credits or certification of completion.

What colleagues said…

“I am embarking on my PhD at MMU. My desire to do this course was based on my experience of the Lego Serious Play sessions which I (partly) attended, earlier this year. I was inspired and challenged to think about my teaching in different ways. I want to continue to challenge myself, that way, I feel I can make the 'classroom' more exciting and more rewarding for students.” Kerry Moakes

“Thank you for the last 5 LSP sessions. Really enjoyed them and has gotten quite a lot out of them. The School of Science and Environment would very much like to use LSP for our focus group. It has generated some excitement within the Athena Swan team. […] On another note, I’ll be trialling the LSP method on PhD students within my research group. I’m hoping to turn their annual review process from another set of paperwork to a useful learning and reflective tool.” Dr Ling Lim
