My thanks to Sam Deneault for his help in delivering the engine for my ‘63 Coupe home safely from Collin County Customs, and also to Ken Dobbs for his helpful advice in the restoration process. This has been a long time coming as most of you know and has already been a great lesson in patience, with more to come, I’m sure. This is my first car. My Dad purchased it in Galena Park in January of 1970, but there’s too much history to cover here. I will try to document as the process moves forward. Thanks again for everyone’s help! Fred Hager

a brief overview of the history of Amsoil and the many products available – all made in America. Joel Joseph mentioned a variety of up-coming events of interest to club members: Sept 14-17 Spectacular Senior Follies in Richardson; Sept 23 Corvette World Garage Party

Jerry Echols reported that there are 44 cars signed up the Corvette Legends Car Corral at the Texas State Fair on October 1. He will be picking up visitors passes. There will be 2 caravans leaving from Lewisville and Plano the morning of the event. Lone Star NCRS Regional will be October 26 – 28 In Frisco. Also Lewisville Western Days Car Show will be from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM on September 30, with $20 entry fee. Bill Preston passed around a sign-up sheet for assistance manning the Patriot Paws booth on September 29th & 30th at the Good-Guys Lone Star National. Good Guys is donating a booth for Patriot Paws, which normally is a $500 charge. Tom Atchison reminded members of brunch on Sunday, September 17, at Jakes in Frisco. He also reported that Huffines is offering a $30,000 price reduction on two new 2016 Corvettes on their lot. After Holiday Party planning is still on-track for January 20, 2018. Legends most recent dinner cruise was September 2. Everyone except the Echols met at IHOP in McKinney to drive together up US 75 to Denison to eat at Huck’s Catfish Restaurant. After eating, John Zachary took most of them on a tour to a few scenic spots on the south side of Lake Texoma. They saw a couple of marinas and the dam. Bill Preston, who coordinated the fundraiser, with Sadie Vail, Good-Guys Sales Rep, and one of the puppies be-ing raised for Patriot Paws.

Good-Guys Rod & Custom Show donated space at the Lone Star Na-tionals Sept. 29-Oct. 1 for Legends members to collect donations for Patriot Paws. Sadie Vail, their Sales Rep, arranged for a great space inside the IRL garage, where many of the automotive vendors were housed. It was also next to a door, so the dogs could “go” out easily. Friday it was rainy, but Legends members, Gary Williams, Al Macdon-ald, and Dennis Conte worked the booth. Six puppies with their puppy raisers showed up to attract attention and create cuteness for several hours. (The puppies supplied the cuteness) Star of the day was our own puppy, Axle. Going to the car show was also a learning experience for the puppies to get familiar with crowds and cars, etc. Saturday Kelly & Bruce Evans, Al & Mary Anne Lisbona, Tom & Mary Jean Entrekin, Joel Joseph and Victor Freeney worked the booth. Three trainers with adult dogs were on hand to help us part of the day too. They brought Tootsie Rolls and collapsable dog dishes to pass out to the crowd. Sunday Kelly Evans and Diane Preston were there to work the dwin-dling crowd with Bill and tear down the display. Thanks to Bill Preston who made all the arrangements with Good-Guys and Patriot Paws, coordinated all the Legends volunteer hours, set up the booth on Thursday, and worked all three days of the show. Legends members collected a total of $2,201.00 for Patriot Paws
