ABOUT LEEDS VOICES
Our Engaging Voices network of third sector organisations; we provideopportunities for seldom heard communities and vulnerable groups to getinvolved in consultation and engagement activities.
Our Working Voices project offers opportunities for businesses to enabletheir employees to be involved in CCG engagement activities, by allowingworking people to volunteer their time to be involved in consultations withinthe workplace.
Our volunteer Leeds Health Ambassadors directly engage with the publicand patients at a range of venues, public events and activities across the city.
Voluntary Action Leeds (VAL) delivers the Leeds Voices project to undertakepublic and community consultations on behalf of NHS Leeds ClinicalCommissioning Group Partnership (CCG). There are three distinct elements to this project:

Paid a total of £3,385back into the third sectorto support its work withthe people andcommunities of Leeds.
Made links withorganisations,increasing our reach tooutlying areas of Leedswhich can often beforgotten amid theneed to engage withinner city areas.
Between January andMarch we delivered 55engagement activitieson a proposal to open 5new Urgent TreatmentCentres.
Influenced strategic engagementin Leeds throughmembership of thePeople's Voices Group,Big Leeds Chat WorkingGroup and theCoproduction SteeringGroup.
Carried out 20 focusgroups with some ofthe most disadvantagedand marginalisedcommunities in Leeds.

Made links andestablishedrelationships with 29new organisations tosupport us in ourengagement work.
Supported people andcommunities acrossLeeds to give theirviews with 6engagements .
Attended 21 eventsacross the cityrepresenting VAL andLeeds Voices.
15 Leeds HealthAmbassadors gave 317hours of volunteeringtime to support theengagements.

OUR KEY OBJECTIVE IS TO:

LOOKING TO 2020 AND BEYOND
Ensure seldom heard and disadvantaged communities are able to fully
participate in engagements and consultations.
Work in collaboration with partners to make our engagement activities
accessible to the diverse communities of Leeds.
Work with partners to develop new tools and techniques to engage
more effectively engage their service users and community members
with the Leeds Voices project.
Work with the CCG to provide partners with more easily accessible
feedback on the results of their participation in engagements.
Work with partners and the CCG to engage proactively on a variety of
health care issues.
Continue to recruit and train Health Ambassadors that reflect the diverse
communities of Leeds.
