CHAPTER 1 : HOW W E GOT HERE

•The Industry is in state of constant transition, making it difficult to

keep pace ( Spaulding, 2009).

•When I worked on projects in school, I would deal with changes

with the classmates when it came to ideas for the project.

•I would still get the project done even though there would be

changes being made in the middle of the project.

CURRENT AND FUTURE APPLI CATI ON

•Currently, my team has to keep up with completing the different

tasks that is given to us every week by communicating with each

other.

•In the future, I will find ways to complete the tasks and adjust the

team when there are chances occurring in the Industry by seeing

who has the skills to handle the changes.

CHAPTER 2 : THE ANATOMY OF A GAM E DEVELOPM ENT COMPANY

•Establishing and communicating structure of your company can

ensure people understand their roles ( Spaulding, 2009).

•When I’m teamed up with others, I would make sure that

everyone knew who was going to do certain tasks.

• Communication within the team made our outcome a successful

one by getting a good grade on the project.

CURRENT AND FUTURE APPLI CATI ON

• Currently, my team is given certain responsibilities every week

to complete and I make sure that everyone is able to complete

the tasks before the due date by listening to any problems that

may occur.

• In the future, I will make sure that my team members are

completing the tasks given to them without any issues by

communicating with them.

C H A P T E R 3 : H O W L E A D E R S A R E C H O S E N , A R E S U P P O RT E D , P E R F O R M , A N D W H Y

•Goal is to find the right people and match them to the right role

within the company ( Spaulding, 2009).

•I’ve always liked to make sure that each person that I’m working

with knows what their job is.

•I look to see if they are doing their job right or do they need to be

replaced.

CURRENT AND FUTURE APPLI CATI ON

•Currently, my team makes sure that each other understand the

tasks that he/she need to complete by listening to what they say

about the tasks that need to completed.

•In the future, I want to be able to know that I have the right people

doing the right job in my company by communicating and

observing their work.

CHAPTER 4 : A LI TMUS TEST FOR LEADS

•We need to recognize what motivates someone to want to lead in

the first place ( Spaulding, 2009).

•I’ve always be a person to lead and help motivate others to

accomplish what they want to.

•Every time I was put in a group, I found myself helping others

with problems they faced and being the leader.

CURRENT AND FUTURE APPLI CATI ON

•Currently, my team has been rotating leaders, but I’ve been

helping my team members that have problems no matter who the

leader is by showing that I’m there to help and encourage them not

to give up.

•In the future, I want to be a leader that motivates and challenges

others to show them that they can accomplish their goals and be

successful.

CHAPTER 5 : LEADERSHI P TYPES AND TRAITS: ASSESSM ENT AND

DEVELOPM ENT STRATEGIES

•All leaders have one or more dominant leadership traits

( Spaulding, 2009).

•My family always say that I’ve always had self-confidence when

I’m completing tasks.

•I always made sure that I didn’t doubt any decision that I made

and I wouldn’t let anything bad bring my confidence to a lower

level.

CURRENT AND FUTURE APPLI CATI ON

•Currently, I show self-confidence in my team when we are

running into problems and we are stuck on a task, so I don’t bring

my team down.

•In the future, I want to have self-confidence in my leadership

skills and earn the trust and respect of my fellow team members.

•I want to show that I can handle any challenges that I may face,

but I also want to motivate my team to act the same way.

CHAPTER 6 : THE PROJECT TEAM LEADER: ROLES AND

RESPONSI BI LI TI ES

•Almost every leader starts out as a project-based leader of some

sort ( Spaulding, 2009).

•In school, I always had a certain role when it came to projects of

any kind.

•My family say that I’ve always liked to have a certain role and

stick to it.

CURRENT AND FUTURE APPLI CATI ON

•Currently, my team has been working together, but I’ve also had

the role of checking on teammates to make sure they don’t have

any problems.

•In the future, I want to be successful in the position that I’m hired

in and show that I can be a leader in any role.

CHAPTER 7 : THE DEPARTM ENT LEADER: ROLES AND

RESPONSI BI LI TI ES

•It is important to establish a job description and to define the areas

of responsibility ( Spaulding, 2009).

•I’ve learned to communicate with others around me, so I know the

responsibilities and job I need to do.

•I’ve always been someone who made sure that I knew what I

needed to accomplish to succeed.

CURRENT AND FUTURE APPLI CATI ON

•Currently, my team collaborates with each other, so we know what

needs to be done and share ideas that will get the tasks done.

•In the future, I want to know my limits to what I can do in my job

and know what my tasks are.

CHAPTER 8 : DI FFI CULT EM PLOYEES, UNDERPERFORM ERS,

AND BAD LEADS

•Every leader is confronted with people who are challenging to

manage for any reason ( Spaulding, 2009).

•When I was in school groups, there was times that there was a

person that wouldn’t do their part of the project.

•There are times when I had to change tasks around because of a

person’s lack of participation.

CURRENT AND FUTURE APPLI CATI ON

•Currently, my team started out just having two members, so we

had to spilt all the work between just two people by

communicating.

•In the future, I want to know how to deal with these types of

people and still make sure the tasks are still being completed.

CHAPTER 9 : THE EFFECTS OF GREAT TEAM LEADERSHI P

•Great games are made by great teams, not by great individuals

( Spaulding, 2009).

•In any project I’ve worked on, I knew that it was a team effort to

get the project done on time.

•It takes a team to get a project done, but it needs to be a skillful

and confident team to make the project successful.

CURRENT AND FUTURE APPLI CATI ON

•Currently, my team consists of three people including myself and

we have been successful so far because of our dedication and

communication with each other.

•In the future, I want to be a part of a team that I can trust and

communicate with, but I want my team to believe in me to.

•I want to be confident in everything I do and I want to lead a team

full of confidence and create awesome games.
