SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

I have undertaken a number of continual professional development courses throughout my years in the teaching profession. Although these were largely delivered in house, they were Industry Standard programmes in a range of subjects including Reflective Practice, Self Management, Health and Safety and First Aid. I also undertook a number of courses relating to learner information systems such as the development of virtual learning environments and other emerging technologies; as well as various network based administrative systems. Due to the large amount of sensitive data, effective data management skills were essential in this aspect of the role.

PERSONAL INTERESTS

I am a keen Musician with 25 years experience of using Music Technology. I have a passion for emerging technologies and have a strong interest in Software and Synthesizers in particular. I am also a keen DJ and am an avid collector of vinyl. For many years I have held long term residencies at a number of venues across the country. Alongside Music, I am a keen cyclist and I have completed several long distance amateur events over the years. For these events I have raised money for a number of charities, including the Christie Hospital. I recently travelled to the French Alps in order to achieve a long held ambition to cycle up the famous mountain of Alpe D’Huez.
