Analysis building process and –period

You have decided a building period:

Building period

Fit in your building process from start to finish.

• Finish building 1, before starting building 2 or ….?

• Subcontractors?

• Major work, expected duration and cost? –

(Establish buildingsite - excavation – foundation-

basement, elements, roof, windows, balconies,

stairs…….)

• Processes – in which order will you plan the work?

- Try not to be too detailed

• Write all your activities from your WBS on sticky notes

• Different colours – one for each subcontractor

• On each sticky note you write activity, expected duration and number of men for the activity - and also cost if possible from your successive estimation

Box diagram

• Find the critical path – show by drawing a line between the depended activities (the red line)

• Analyze the final result

• Should critical activities be critical?

• How many men do you expect on the site at one time

• Can the total duration be reduced?

• Does your details “fit” into the planning

• Does activities conflict – Place and time

• Can you make the building process more effective.

• Hang up the box diagram - maybe it is not final!
